Lexa Meyer has deep experience in both managing the first and largest permitted kelp hatchery in Alaska and as a mariculture researcher and educator. Since 2019, Lexa has overseen the operations of the Blue Evolution kelp hatchery located in Kodiak, Alaska at the NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center. This hatchery is one of the largest in North America. She has supported numerous Alaska water quality studies and serves as faculty at agency sponsored kelp farming training workshops such as the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation, Alaska Sea Grant and Green Wave in 2020 and 2021. Lexa is currently working on a PhD program with the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a dissertation
