Alutiiq Grown and KALI received a 2023 Alaska Food Hero Award!

From Left to Right, Max Lyons , Danielle Christiansen, Becky Gomez, Duke Delgado, Robbie Townsend Vennel, Sam Kenoyer and Joe Kewan accept the 2023 Food Hero Award at the AFPC Conference in Anchorage, Alaska!

At each Alaska Food Policy Conference, individuals and organizations are recognized with the “Alaska Food Hero Award.”  Selection is based on work they have been involved with over the past 18 months. Awardees demonstrate a substantial impact on Alaska’s food system, transform an aspect of their community’s food system, and make a difference for Alaska’s prosperity, health and self-reliance.

All of us at KALI and Alutiiq Grown send out a big heartfelt Quyanaasinaq!
To all of the partners that make Alutiiq Grown the special regional team that it is.
And to the Alaska Food Policy Council for this wonderful recognition of the work of Alutiiq Grown, the first rural and Alaska Native farming collective in the State of Alaska.
